In partnership with the City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management and The Trust for Public Land, the 16-acre Cook Park alleviates a 10-million-gallon stormwater surcharge, promotes environmental restoration, and revitalizes an underrepresented Atlanta neighborhood.

Ed Castro Landscape installed over 26,000 plants, including native species and grasses, and constructed wetlands with littoral shelf plantings to improve water quality and clarity. The park’s main pond, street-edge rain gardens, and grat lawn are supported by high-sand content soils and subsurface drainage systems, filtering stormwater runoff and controlling flooding. A state-of-the-art 2-wire irrigation system, designed by Bob Scott, enhances the park’s sustainability, making it both a valued community space and a vital green infrastructure component. Ed Castro Landscape collaborated seamlessly to complete this project to high acclaim.
