Modern Woodland Ranch
The Property
When Ed Castro Landscape (ECL) was approached to work on this project, it was a modern woodland ranch home designed for age-in-place living with easily accessible features. Collaborating with designer Hannah Seaton, ECL worked closely with the original landscape architect and builder to create a harmonious and accessible outdoor environment that complemented the home’s contemporary zen aesthetic.
Challenges & Successful Solutions
The challenge was to enhance the home’s accessibility while maintaining a serene and cohesive landscape. ECL managed plant procurement, layout, and installation, selecting species that provided tranquility and visual appeal. Drainage and irrigation systems were installed to ensure the landscape’s longevity and health. A fountain was added as a central feature, promoting peace and relaxation.
New gravel pathways were laid out to provide easy navigation throughout the garden, enhancing accessibility and the overall zen ambiance. The result is a serene and functional outdoor space that perfectly complements the modern woodland ranch home.
