Mozley Park
This project integrates low-maintenance, green stormwater infrastructure throughout Mozley Park, promoting environmental equity in an underserved Atlanta community. Two large bioretention gardens and two central enhanced grass swales capture, treat, and infiltrate an estimated 3.6 million gallons of stormwater runoff, improving water quality, controlling erosion, and reducing flood risks.
Additional benefits include enhanced biodiversity, improved downstream aquatic environments, and educational opportunities for park visitors. The project features over 3,200 semi-aquatic plants and 52,000+ square feet of high-performance turf to support park events. As one of Atlanta’s largest green infrastructure projects, Ed Castro Landscape installed 750+ cubic yards of infiltration media and upgraded storm drain utilities to ensure peak
