Located near Young Middle School on Benjamin E. Mays Drive, West Manor Park provides a vital green space for the surrounding City of Atlanta community. This green infrastructure (GI) project was designed to reduce flooding, improve water quality, and protect city infrastructure, all while enhancing the park’s amenities.

The project includes 1,300+ semi-aquatic shrubs, herbaceous perennials, and grasses. Beneath the plantings, a 36-inch profile of high C33 sand content engineered soils supports a network of air-spade columns drilled 30 inches into the subgrade and backfilled with washed drainage stone for efficient water infiltration. The improvements expand usable lawn space for recreation and revitalize under-utilized areas, creating a more welcoming park environment.
